1. TITLE

The Society shall be known as the “MILTON MUSICAL SOCIETY".

 

2. OBJECTS

The objects of the Society shall be the study and performance of Light Opera, Concerts and Musical Comedy works for public entertainment and charitable purposes.

 

3. MEMBERSHIP

(i) The Society shall consist of:

 

FULL MEMBERS

(a) Acting

(b) Non-acting

 

JUNIOR MEMBERS (Under 18)

 

HONORARY LIFE MEMBERS

 

HONORARY MEMBERS

 

PATRONS

 

(ii) Applications for Full/Junior membership shall be made on an official form and submitted together with entrance fee to the Management Committee for acceptance. Prior to election all candidates for Acting membership shall satisfy the Management Committee as to, their musical/acting ability.


(iii) Honorary Life Members/Honorary Members will be recommended for membership by the Society and elected at a General Meeting.


(iv)   Patron applications will be considered for acceptance by the Management Committee on the recommendation of any member of the Society.


(v)  The Management Committee shall have power by a majority vote to:

                                             (a) refuse to accept any member's renewal subscription; and

(b) suspend any member whose behaviour is detrimental to the best interests of the Society. Such suspension may be lifted at any time by a majority vote of the Management Committee.


(vi)  On election each member shall be supplied with a copy of the Constitution of the Society and shall be deemed to have full knowledge of, and to have accepted, the same and the implications thereof.


(vii)   In any particular financial year a member will be liable to contribute to the expenses arising from any contract or obligation incurred by the Management Committee or any other committee or representative during that year. This shall equally apply to members who have resigned or have been suspended during that financial year.
